Comprehensive Eye Examination:
We welcome patients of all ages. We perform complete medical eye examinations and our state-of-the art equipment allows us to do diagnostic testing for possible eye problems. We provide treatment for a wide variety of eye problems including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. In all of these cases, early detection is important. We also provide detailed vision examinations with glasses and contact lens prescriptions. Contact lens options are available even for those with astigmatism, dry eyes, allergies, and the need for bifocals.

Contact Lens Exams:
The FDA considers contact lenses as medical devices. As such, they are regulated by prescription laws similar to that of prescription medications. The law also mandates a prescription expiration date of one year from the issue date.
A contact lens prescription is different from a normal eyeglass prescription, because contact lenses rest on the eye and refract light differently.
The contact lens examination includes all the regular components of our comprehensive vision exam (which yields an eyeglass prescription), plus contour mapping of your cornea (the front of the eye) and numerous other measurements. We also provide training if needed in proper lens care, insertion and removal procedures, troubleshooting techniques, when to wear and even more importantly when not to wear your contacts. A brief follow up appointment ( at no additional charge) may also be required.
Please Note: There is an additional fee for the Contact Lens Portion of your exam, generally ranging from $60 - $135.

Digital Retinal Photography:
Our office is committed to provide the best patient care possible. In order to continue with this philosophy we have invested in one of the latest technological innovations, This new technology combines retinal photography with computerized digital imaging. This allows instant viewing of retinal images by both the doctor and the patient without the use of dilation drops. These images serve a dual purpose: first for documenting any existing eye disease and second for establishing baseline images to compare against any future possible changes.
This method of examining and documenting the retina is incredibly more detailed and accurate than the conventional drawing methods still in use by clinics that choose not to offer this new technology. We believe baseline images will promote earlier diagnosis of many abnormal vision conditions, many of which can lead to permanent visual loss if not caught and treated in a timely manner.
Medical insurance companies will reimburse for this procedure only when there is an existing eye disease. Our baseline screening imaging (when no disease is present) is $30.00. We are very excited about the results in this new technology and highly recommend Digital Retinal Imaging as an optional addition to your exam.
